Meet the Artists Behind MarfaMeta
Sotol and Julie Rainbow Carey are two talented artists whose passion for art and technology led to the creation of MarfaMeta. Sotol, a photographer and Javascript artist, is a specialist in blockchain art, or NFTs. In 2009, he moved from New York City to Marfa, Texas, drawn to the area’s stunning landscapes and unique artistic community. Julie Rainbow Carey, came to Marfa from San Antonio after attending Texas State University in San Marcos. She was captivated by the art scene in Marfa and the environment there invites work combining construction and decay. The timelessness and sudden passing of the same.
